Harold Schatz who lived to the age of 98 in Los Angeles California, was an accomplished violinist from Western New York. He taught music for many years in Niagara Falls schools orchestrating many concerts and musicals throughout his tenure.
He was the coordinator and conductor for the Jewish Center Orchestra in Buffalo in the 1960’s. Many Western New York musicians will remember the exceptional talents and teachings of Harold Schatz. He was quoted “Music has been important to me my entire life”.
Well into his 90’s he played his violin with the Westside Symphonette, a community orchestra that performed in the LA area. The photo shown here is taken from a YouTube video where he is playing his violin for his great niece and great-great niece on his 95th birthday.
