SEVEN DAY FAITH
SEVEN DAY FAITH
Seven Day Faith began in the 1980’s when Rob Bilson (vocals & guitar) and John Rosini (guitar) met at LaSalle Middle School in Niagara Falls New York. As they entered high school, they jammed together on their guitars, started writing songs, and soon the energy and drive of Seven Day Faith (SDF) evolved into a popular power pop-rock band.
Drummer Rob Ferenc, a next-door neighbor of John’s, was brought in to lay down the foundation. Bassist Kevin Ernst, who was in the original Buffalo punk band Crunchy Frog, joined in 1996 after filling in for a show with Bilson and Rosini years earlier. Rob Burgio, formerly of the band Skyjuice, was added on as bass guitarist.
In 1999, their debut CD, ‘Life Says We Think Too Much’ was released, and quickly gained attention from local radio stations. SDF was soon embraced by Western New York area music fans and enjoyed the success of packed houses wherever they played including such venues as Nietzsche’s, The Tralf and The Funhouse.
They also played the sold-out Kiss The Summer Hello Bash with The Go-Go’s at Dunn Tire Park and at Thursday At The Square opening for Pat Benatar. “These talented artists had fans lining up for four hours waiting for autographs, photos, and whenever possible, a quick hug”…---Buffalo News. The Buffalo News wasn’t writing about a Bon Jovi concert in 1985; they were writing about Seven Day Faith in 2001. SDF carved their path to fame through guitar driven hooks, soulful lyrics, a magnetic stage show and loyal fans.
These impressive musicians began their journey with barely enough money to record their first album; to rise to 2004 Billboard magazine’s independent music chart’s NUMBER ONE spot. Their work ethic, precision, and passion for creating and performing music exuded throughout their live shows and earned them to open for more national acts to include Bret Michaels, 98 Degrees, Michele Branch, Bowling for Soup, Sean Paul, Good Charlotte, Simple Plan, Avril Lavigne, LL Cool J, Nickelback, Our Lady Peace, Papa Roach and others. SDF adds to their credentials the number 1 hit single ‘Everything’, as well as three top ten singles on the Top 40 Charts at WKSE: KISS 98.5 – the first unsigned local band to get rotation on a national radio station; as well as on Toronto, Canada’s Top 40 station, Z101.
Their national acclaim followed with radio play in other markets and features in national magazines such as J-14, the #1 Teen Magazine in the United States. Seven Day Faith has been invited to play the KISS 98.5’s Kiss the Summer Hello concert four times. Seven Day Faith was also the first local unsigned band to play at KeyBank Center in 2004.
They were scheduled to perform a reunion show last summer but was postponed. Now, they will be performing at Batavia Downs this summer opening for the band Slaughter, on Friday July 23. With great pleasure we are excited to welcome Seven Day Faith; Rob Bilson, John Rosini, Rob Ferenc, Kevin Ernst and Rob Burgio as members of the Niagara Falls Music Hall of Fame Class of 2020.
