Legacy Award
Sam started taking drum lessons at age 14 from Lou Morelle and played his first professional gig at the age 15. For more than 50 years, he was a mainstay at local weddings and social events in the Niagara Falls area.
He played everything from big band to jazz to swing and onto modern pop. In the early 80’s, Sam was the leader of the house band at the newly opened Hilton Hotel in downtown Niagara Falls performing with many other talented musicians in the city.
Dedicated to music, he held various officer positions in the Musicians Local #106 for over 20 years. Starting out as a board member working his way up to the president, a position he held for several terms. Sam was also a State and National Delegate for more than a decade representing the Musicians Local #106 across the country.
For his love of music, Sam’s family laid him to rest with a pair of Regal Tip sticks at his side.
